Liam Everts' Injury Update

On Monday, Liam met doctor m.d. Claes to get his injuries examined, sustained past Saturday at the EMX125 race in Faenza. Besides the already known injuries, the screening didn’t show any other injuries. On the other hand, we got good news about the other injuries. At second glance the wrist wasn’t dislocated. However Liam broke his right radius, but this does not need any surgery. Liam wears a cast at the moment and his arm will need approximal 6 weeks’ to heal. Meaning that Liam will be unable to contest the Grand Prix in Lommel. Photo: Gino Maes

Liam Everts gets injured in Italian EMX125 round

In the beautiful scenery of Faenza, all young and promising riders came together to race the second round of the EMX125 championship. The leader in this championship was, after his dominating win in Matterley Basin, no one else then Liam Everts. In timed qualifying, Liam showed promising speed, putting a fifth time on the clocks. In the first moto the Yoko-rider started in the top 5 in the first heat. A good start makes life always a bit easier wasn’t it that this good start went through the drain, Liam lost the front of the bike on one of the downhills. Kegums 3.0 brings Liam' another top 10 result!

Past Saturday all EMX250 riders tried to qualify themselves, a third time in less then ten days, for a grand prix hosted at Kegums in Latvia. Liam wasn’t too happy with the result at ‘Kegums 1.0’ but a few days later he redeemed himself with an nice result at Kegums 2.0.  That last result left us hopeful for Kegums 3.0. But once again timed qualification didn’t went smoothly. Overwhelmed with tension Liam was unable to find the right flow. With a twenty-fourth time, the Sidi-boots rider performed far under his true abilities and pace. Liams Latvian tales

It is 2020 and everything is possible! Yes also three Grand Prix’ races in just one week and all at one venue. To catch up on some of the lost racing while we were in a global lock down, some venues are hosting three full blown grand prix ‘weekends’. One of those lucky venues is Kegums in Latvia. After months of no Grand Prix racing, the EMX250 riders restarted their championship in Latvia. With also Liam Everts on the starting gate. The young Belgian did great in his debut, months ago at Valkenswaard. Liam Everts scores 8th overall in International MX2 Race at Axel!

As last preparation for the restart of the EMX-season, Liam raced the international test race at Axel in the Netherlands. After last weekend’s appearance in Arnhem on the 125cc bike, he would now race his KTM 250 SX-F bike in the MX2 class. In the qualifying, the youngster managed to put the fifteenth time on to the tables. A decent place in this stacked field of Grand Prix and European 250 riders. From gate pick fifteen, we saw the ‘Gerry De Haes’ supported rider take a mid-pack start. Swiftly the KTM-rider made some passes, this resulting in going forward quickly. But after a unfortunate touch with a competitor Liam made a little crash and tumbled some places backwards on the leaderboard....
