Liam announces title sponsor for 2021!

Let us start by wishing you all a happy new year. Like most of you, we’re hoping that 2021 turns out to be the year where SARS-CoV-2 becomes a controllable disease. This because the real champions of 2020, the healthcare workers, will only then really be able to take some rest. Another reason why we hope that COVID19 will eat dust in 2021, is the fact that racing without spectators isn’t the same. But we can’t control COVID19, except following the instructions from the governments. What we can control is the build up towards the 2021 season! In anticipation of the upcoming season, Team Liamski signed a deal with Lieven Vanlommel from Foodmaker. The Belgian food processing company creates ultra-fresh meals...

Liam Everts returns with privateer effort in 2021

Past season began with a big up and ended on an downer. Starting did it with an incredible win at the EMX125 Grand Prix of Matterley Bassin at the end of February. Just a few days later a virus called SARS-CoV-2 aka COVID-19 would derail the world. Sending everything including our sport into a break. When it all stabilized, we resumed racing with races in Czech, Netherlands, Latvia and Italy. There at the Italian track of Faenza, Liam’ season ended prematurely due to an broken arm. Luckily that chapter is now behind us. The arm is almost as new and withstood all training very well. Also the rides on the mountain bike as well as some laps on the KTM...

Liam Everts freed from cast!

The past few months haven’t been the most enjoyable for Liam Everts. The young Belgian broke his radius at the start of September in the EMX125 Grand Prix of Faenza. What looked like a clean fracture at first, turned out to be an annoying injury. This all because after 6-weeks of healing, the facture was grown back together in such a way that it caused an unforeseen obstruction in movement of the wrist. A little surgery was the solution. Now a little more than two months later, Liam is finally freed from the cast around his lower arm. Meaning that slowly but surely his preparation towards the 2021 season can start. Under guidance of his physio, Liam will start by...

Liam undergoes surgery on radius

Past Monday, Liam was expected at the AZ Herentals hospital. This for surgery on his right radius. The right radius healed himself in a wrongful position, creating an obstruction for the wrist to move. As solution, the radius needed to be refractured and repositioned, and the new position of the radius would be secured with an iron plate. The surgery, where they performed the actions described, went well. Afterward, some swelling caused some problems and severe pain. But this got handled by changing the splint, a painful action that caused a little bleeding. From now on it’s a waiting game, more we will know when Liam visits the doctor in a few weeks. Till then he will be busy with school! The...

Liam Everts’ arm needs surgery

Yesterday, five weeks after the crash in the EMX125 Grand Prix of Italia, Liam got examined by his doctors. Unfortunately there was bad news for him to hear. After x-rays and removing the cast they noticed that the radius is healed but this in such a way that it obstructs the movement of the wrist. Because of the young age of Liam and the hopefully bright future ahead of us, a surgery is the smartest choice to make. Nevertheless this unexpected hump in the recovery and to 2021 leaves a bitter taste in our mouths. Liam is scheduled to have his surgery this upcoming Monday. We will keep you updated on social media, website and newsletters. Photo: Gino Maes
