Pre-season interview - 2024 - Liam Everts

Hi Liam, it’s been a while… And we have some questions for you!

How did wintertraining go for you?

Pretty good! I spent a long time in Portugal and went to Spain for a while (Red Sand). That all went well. During the long period in Portugal I was also able to train very well, together with Pauls Jonass and Alberto Forato. Testing in the winter period went well and the photoshoot also was great! I'm feeling good right now.

How do you look back at your 2023 MX2 season?

It was a great season for me. Of course, there are always things that can be improved, so we are trying to improve them this year. But there were a lot of positive things that we certainly take with us this season.

What’s your best memory of 2023?

There were several beautiful moments in 2023! Winning my first Grand Prix in Germany was of course fantastic, but the experience in Indonesia also left a very big impression on me. That was a really nice trip. And of course also the Grand Prix in Arnhem and Turkey that I won. I'll never forget those.

What 2023 moment would you like to forget?

*Liam laughs* I think the Portuguese Grand Prix – and especially that Sunday – was one to forget as quickly as possible. That was a tough one. But that’s part of the sport and it was surely a learning moment there.

You’re going to compete in some pre-season races. Are you looking forward to that?

Definitely! I'm looking forward to it and it's also a good time to see what the strengths and weaknesses are. Things we can potentially work on before we leave for Argentina.

Are you following the Supercross season in the US?

Yes, I find it very interesting. I don't think there has ever been so much talent at the start as there has been this year. So it's going to be a very interesting Supercross season!

What songs are on your top played Spotify list at the moment?

*Laughs again* I'm going to check it right now! I'm listening a lot to Foreigner (80s music). But 21 Pilots also passes by frequently at the moment, as do Fleetwood Mac, Praga Khan and Limp Bizkit. A mix of all kinds of things :)
